Recognizing an
opportunity and potential in Viera area for an expanded
Comprehensive Outpatient Imaging Center, three long-time business
associates and friends, Dr. Allen Powell, Dr. Jeffrey Araj and
Francis Olomu founded Viera Diagnostic Center in 2002. Using their
sixty years plus experience in Imaging Centers, they set out to put
together a dynamic organization in Viera. We are committed to having
centers in strategic locations for the benefit of our patients.

Viera Diagnostic Center is proud to introduce the Philips
Infinition 1.5T Ultra Short Bore MRI System. This new, high field,
whole body MRI system cuts exam times in half compared to other MRI
systems. Because of the high quality images and our experienced
techs, patients can get an earlier diagnosis. Our MRI suite is
designed for patients' comfort, including those who suffer from
claustrophobia.

Suite has its own separate dressing and waiting area. The area is
staffed by experienced female technologists, with a radiologist

Company Vision
Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI), Computerized Axial Topography (CT) Ultrasound and
some other Imaging service are slowly reaching the mature stage of
the business circle. Never the less, there are still opportunities
in the high tech area of the medical imaging area. Our beliefs are
as follows:
- The technological changes occurring that will create an
entirely different and expanded market. We believe this market
will include cardiac MRI, Computerized angiographies, and ultra
high speed CT that will feature virtual colonscopy, lung
screening, heart calcium scoring and whole body imaging. Viera
Diagnostic Center is poised to move in these directions when the
technology is truly available and reimbursable.
- For the next few years, conventional MRI and other diagnostic
service are accepted standards of care in any medical practice and
the available volume of procedures cannot be increased due to
education. We therefore must have better and latest technology
available on the market, better service, better education and
communication with our patients (e-mail, knowledge of latest
technology available) and market aggressively to change referral
pattern from one entity to another.
- All projects need a “hook”. While important, demographic and
need assessment alone are not enough to warrant a project. There
must be a strategic relationship in the form of an existing
medical practice, a hospital, a key physician group or
radiologist.
- We are in an environment still conductive to expanded
outpatient diagnostic services. An aging population in combination
with new technology will insure the need for additional services.

Francis Yomi Olomu
Francis Olomu
began his Medical Imaging career in 1975. He completed his
Radiologic Technology degree at Washington University
Mallinkrodt Institute of Radiologic Technology in St. Louis
Missouri. Among his accomplishments, he has worked in all
aspect of radiology including technical, educational, research
and administration. His experience includes working in various
University hospital centers including St. Louis University in
Missouri and Jackson Memorial hospital at University of Miami,
Florida. As Operations Manager of radiology at University of
California at Los Angeles, (UCLA) he was in-charge of the
day-to-day operation of the department of radiology,
overseeing the renovation and construction of the department
($22million budget), which includes 5 MRI machines, 5 CAT scan
machines, 4 Angiography rooms and various Outpatient
facilities. Under his leadership, the Department of Radiology
at UCLA Medical Center went from last to first in both patient
and referring physician satisfaction. In 1994, he moved to
Florida with University Technology Transfer Co. ( UTTCO),
which later became Medical Technology Transfer Co.(MTTCO) to
start the University Center Imaging in Melbourne for Harris
Corporation. The facility was the first center to transmit
images through the phone line commercially (PACS). He was the
administrator of the center until 2002 when he decided to move
on to more challenging projects. Francis has been involved in
developing and managing imaging facilities both in the
domestic and international arena. He will use his vast
experience to play a key role in the day-to-day operations of
the facilities.

Kathleen
Casey: Registered nurse with over 12 years of experience
in Critical Care, Management of a Hospital Medical/Surgical
unit and Outpatient Diagnostic Radiology Services. She was
awarded Nursing Internship from Yale University School of
Nursing. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from
University of Texas. She was the previous Administrator at
University Center Imaging in Melbourne and worked there for 7
years. She is nationally Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN). She
is a member of the American Radiologic Nurses Association.

Karla
Knight: 6 years of experience in both Medical and
Radiology scheduling. Karla attended Brevard Community College
and received an A.A. degree and has a vast knowledge of
Medical Insurance Authorization and data entry with emphasis
on Radiology. She can help you with any type of scheduling
questions. Karla has handled multi physician’s practice and is
well known in the community for her customer service skills.

Erica Smith
Eight years of experience with medical billing as well as
customer service. She holds a bachelor's degree in healthcare
administration from the University of Central Florida. She can
assist you with any billing questions.

Camille
Caglianone Camille is a native of Long Island New York. She
moved to Brevard County 5 years ago. She brings to the center
12 years of experience in the medical field which includes
scheduling, billing, insurance follow up and patient
assistance. She is very up beat and always ready to take care
of all our patient needs.

Adrian D.
Paull Adrian holds an associate Degree in business and has
formally worked in our community as a server for the Melbourne
Chart House and a sales rep. for her family owned business.
She has been a Professional's Liaison for Viera Diagnostic
Center since August 2004. She has been working in the
community to inform medical professionals about all the
wonderful and advanced diagnostic procedures Viera Diagnostic
Center has to offer. Adrian was newly married in November of
2003 and is expecting her first child in September 2005.
Lastly, Adrian has been a licensed Massage and Neuromuscular
therapist since 1996 and is eager to help those in pain or who
just want to relax.

Dr. Allen
Powell is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology,
Neuroradiology, and Interventional Radiology. He is a graduate
of MIT and Duke University, completed his medical training at
the University of Florida, and is fellowship trained in
musculoskeletal imaging. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor
of Radiology at University of Florida. He is a member of many
professional organizations and societies including the Brevard
County Medical Society, the American College of Radiology and
the Radiological Society of North America.

Dr. Jeffrey
Araj is the former Medical Director of Radiology at Cape
Canaveral Hospital. He graduated from the University of
Florida, the Medical College of Ohio School of Medicine, and
completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University
of California-Davis. Dr. Araj is a Board Certified Radiologist
and a member of both the American College of Radiology and the
Florida Radiological Society.
